1(a)
Explain any two personality characteristics in an organization
Answer
: Organizations are made up of individuals with individual differences –
different ways of looking at the world and approaching specific situations. An
effective manager must be able to leverage these individual differences for the
benefit of both the individual and the organization. Due to differing
personalities and abilities, certain employees may be stronger in certain
capacities. Matching employees with the role they are most suited for is a
critical endeavor for practitioners of organizational behavior.
(b)

Answer
: POSEC stands for
Prioritize, Organize, Streamline, Contribution, Economize, Contribution.

2.
Why are goals important? Why should they be SMART?
Answer : By setting expectations at
the beginning of the performance cycle, individuals are provided with a finish
line to work towards from the initial starting point. Individuals can utilize
the entire performance cycle to strive to achieve and possibly exceed their
goals. However, timing isn’t everything. There are many more things to consider
when setting goals at any level within an organization.
SMART goals are goals that employees
can realistically and consistently reach and therefore provide crucial
motivation. SMART is an acronym for Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant,
and Timely, each of which plays an important part in the creation
3(a)
How does Jung explain the traits of personality?
Answer : Jung was a
trait theorist in addition to being a depth psychologist. Traits are durable
characteristics of a person. Jung invented the extraversion/introversion
dichotomy that is still very popular in academic psychology. Extraversion, in
Jung's scheme, is an outward turning of "goal-directed energy."
Extraverted people channel their life energy into activities and social
involvement. Introverts, by contrast, are turned inward, more interested in the
life of the mind than the events of the outside world. Jung recognized himself
as an introvert, because he was more often interested in his mental reactions
to life events than the events
(b)
What is self-image? How is it created?
Answer : Every successful person knows
the vital role that their self- image, or the picture they hold of themselves,
plays in their success. This snapshot is probably the most important single
factor, which will determine how successful you will be in life - it is your
destiny.
I firmly believe that holding a poor self-image
short-circuits a person's chances of success.
Your self-image is what you feel about
yourself at the deepestlevel. It is your truth - because you subconsciously
believe it about yourself. One's self image (especially with sensitive people)
is a very fragile thing. It can be severely damaged by the loss
