Q. 1.       Explain the role of the Government in Managing Fire.

Answer:The foundation of this practice is the Village Council, a system of village community governance. While the traditional fire management tools and techniques are simple, the strategies rely on timely community response and participation. There are four categories of measures, i.e. regulatory, activity-oriented, preventive and punitive. The community regulates the period of jhum burning, defines roles for each of its members, prescribes preparation of fire lines in the jhum fields, and imposes penalties for causing forest fires.

Q. 2.       Explain the factors that lead to reduction in the shear resistance on a slope.

Answer:The Shear Strength Reduction option in Phase2 allows you to automatically perform a finite element slope stability analysis, and compute a critical strength reduction factor for the model. The critical strength reduction factor is equivalent to the "safety factor" of the slope.

Q. 3.       Discuss the organization’s strategy for responding to emergency or disaster, providing information essential to continuity of critical business functions, and identify the resources needed during disaster.

Answer:Disaster management (or emergency management) is the creation of plans through which communities reduce vulnerability to hazards and cope with disasters. Disaster management does not avert or eliminate the threats, instead it focuses on creating plans to decrease the impact of disasters. Failure to create a plan could lead to damage to assets, human mortality, and lost revenue. Currently in the United States 60%




Q. 4.       Does everyone in your family know what to do when there is a natural gas leak in your house? Explain the procedures to be adopted in case of a gas leak.

Answer:That sulfuric, rotten egg odor that signals a natural gas leak isn't an ordinary component of the carbon-hydrogen compound. Because of the potential danger associated with natural gas leaks, suppliers add the noxious scent to natural gas as an olfactory warning that the harmful vapors are loose in the air.
