1. (a) Write a detailed note on
classification of entrepreneurs.
Answer : “Entrepreneur is one who always
searches for change, responds to it, and exploits it is an opportunity.
Entrepreneurs innovate.

Entrepreneurs play a paramount
role in today’s market driven economy. Entrepreneur is somebody who engages in
business running anything from multi crore corporations to street vendors for
profit. They play increasingly important role in sustaining commerce today
especially since the mantra now is that of privatization. Clarence Danhof has
classified Entrepreneurs into four types

entrepreneurship?
Answer : Kaos conceptual model
According to Kao,
entrepreneurship and creativity result from the interrelationship of the
following three elements as shown in the following figure

2. (a) Do you think that to establish an enterprise is an adventurous
venture? Explain why or why not?
Answer : To establish an
enterprise is absolutely adventurous venture. It transforms the total outlook
of an entrepreneur. It enhances his
world of knowledge and give wonderful experiences about entrepreneurship.
To be an entrepreneur is not an
easy task. One must check these points to b a successful entrepreneur:
1. Leadership
The commitment and continuity of one or two individuals to lead and
coordinate the enterprise.
Within all start-up enterprises
there is a dominant leader who helps coordinate the enterprise and enables
those involved to develop and function through the many stages of development
required for success.

4(a) Explain the social problems
of women entrepreneurs.
Answer : Social problems of women entrepreneurs.
1. The greatest deterrent to
women entrepreneurs is that they are women. Indian society is patriarchal and
Indian women are traditionally considered to be homemakers and not
'businesswomen.'
2. The financial institutions are
skeptical about the entrepreneurial abilities of women. Banks and other
financial institutions are reluctant to lend money to women entrpreneurs and
they stipulate many conditions before they lend money to them
(b) Explain the characteristics of successful women entrepreneurs with reference
to any successful entrepreneur.
Answer : Being an entrepreneur in
today’s economy is a wonderful opportunity to share your talents IF you have
what it takes to be successful! What is it about the successful entrepreneur
that is integral to that success? Do women entrepreneurs have common traits
that help with success? Is it luck? Is it their product/service? Or, is it
something characteristic about her that means she would likely be successful at
anything she attempted?
5(a) What are EDCs. State their importance and their functions in entrepreneurship
development
Answer : Economic Development Corporation
The Economic Development
Corporation of Goa, or the EDC was established in march 1975 as the State
Finance Corporation, with the main purpose of accelerating the process of
industrial development of Goa, Daman and Diu, through the Provision of finance
and support services for industry.
The EDC carries out the business
of an investment company; it encourages and promotes participation of capital
in industrial enterprises, sponsors and underwriters new issues of shares,
debentures and other securities. It aids and assist production units in various
spheres such as manufacturing, dairy farming, mining, tourism, etc.
(b) Discuss in detail the
evaluation techniques and what considerations should be kept in mind while
selecting the evaluation technique for a
programme.
Answer : A clear framework is
essential to guide monitoring and evaluation.
A framework should explain how the programme is supposed to work by
laying out the components of the initiative and the order or the steps needed
to achieve the desired results. A framework increases understanding of the programme’s
goals and objectives, defines the relationships between factors key to
implementation, and articulates the internal and external elements that could
affect the programme’s success.
