1.Explain different types of Retail formats and types.

Answer : Retail formats can be broadly be classified into two types viz., a) Store format and b) Non-store format.

Store formats: Store formats are formats based on the physical store where the vendor interacts with the customer. A super market, convenience store, department store, discount store, category specialist and malls are few examples of the store formats.

2. Explain retail marketing mix.
Answer : The retail marketing mix is a term that is used to collectively identify several key aspects or phases associated with achieving success in a retail market. Each of the aspects addresses activities that begin with the creation of a good or service and follow all the way through to closing the sale with the buyer. Sometimes referred to as "The Four P’s of Retailing," the elements found in a retail marketing mix include product, price, place, and promotion.

The core aspect of the retail marketing mix is the product created for sale to consumers. Ideally, the good or service in question is of the highest quality, with that quality reflected in both the design and the packaging for the product. The product itself must be of value to the targeted consumer base, and the packaging must also reflect



3. What are the elements of store design? Explain each in detail.

Answer : Since the evolution of retail design and its impact on productivity have become clear, a series of standardisations in the techniques and design qualities has been determined. These standardisations range from alterations to the perspective of the structure of the space, entrances, circulation systems, atmospheric qualities (light and sound) and materiality.
