1. Elaborate the Concept of Productivity in production and operation
management. Discuss different Ways to improve productivity.
Answer:Productivity is usually expressed in one of three forms: partial factor
productivity, multifactor productivity, and total productivity. Each one is now

Answer:Product is one of the important elements of marketing mix. A marketer can
satisfy consumer needs and wants through product. A product consists of both
good and service. Decisions on all other elements of marketing mix depend on
product. For example, price is set for the product; promotional efforts are
directed to sell the product; and distribution network is prepared for the
product. Product is in the center of marketing programme. Therefore, product
has a major role in determining overall success of marketing efforts.

the use of human resource, raw materials, machines etc. PPC is the technique to

quality assurance (QA). QA is defined as a procedure or set of procedures
intended to ensure that a product or service under development (before work is
complete, as opposed to afterwards) meets specified

Alfred Weber’s theory of industrial location.
Answer:Leaning heavily on work developed by the relatively unknown Wilhelm
Launhardt, Alfred Weber formulated a least cost theory of industrial location
which tries to explain and predict the locational pattern of the industry at a
macro-scale. It emphasizes that firms seek a site of minimum transport and
labor cost.

Influence of government on industry location.
Answer:Many important geographical factors involved in the location of individual
industries are of relative significance, e.g., availability of raw materials,
power resources, water, labour, markets and the transport facilities.
