Note: Answer all questions. Kindly note that answers for 10 marks
questions should be approximately of 400 words. Each question is followed by
evaluation scheme.
Q.1 Research is an orderly approach towards purposeful investigation.
Explain the various
steps involved in a research process.
Ans : Meaning of Research :
In Business, research involves
establishing objectives and gathering relevant information to obtain the answer
to a business issue. You can conduct business research to answer a
business-related question, such as: What is the target market of my product?
Business research can also be used to solve a business-related problem, such as
determining how to decrease the amount of excess inventory on hand. Adequate
planning and information-gathering are essential to derive results for your
business.
Step 1: Identify the Problem
Step 2: Review the Literature
Q.2 Explain the steps involved in formulating a research problem. What
are the techniques
for formulating a research problem?
Ans : Research Problem :
A research problem is a statement about an area of concern, a condition
to be improved, a difficulty to be eliminated, or a troubling question that
exists in scholarly literature, in theory, or in practice that points to the
need for meaningful understanding and deliberate investigation. In some social
science disciplines the research problem is typically posed in the form of a
question. A research problem does not state how to do something, offer a vague
or broad proposition, or present a value question.
Q.3 Discuss the types of Questionnaire. Explain the guidelines in
designing a Questionnaire.
Ans : Meaning of a Questionnaire :
A questionnaire is a research instrument consisting of a series of
questions and other prompts for the purpose of gathering information from
respondents. Although they are often designed for statistical analysis of the
responses, this is not always the case. The questionnaire was invented by Sir
Francis Galton. Questionnaires have advantages over some other types of surveys
in that they are cheap, do not require as much effort from the questioner as
verbal or telephone surveys, and often have standardized answers that make it
simple to compile data. However, such standardized answers may frustrate users.
