Note: Answer all questions. Kindly note
that answers for 10 marks questions should be approximately of 400 words. Each
question is followed by evaluation scheme.
Question.
1. Discuss research design in case of exploratory research studies.
Answer: Exploratory research is
research conducted for a problem that has not been clearly defined. It often
occurs before we know enough to make conceptual distinctions or posit an
explanatory relationship. Exploratory research helps determine the best
research design, data collection method and selection of subjects. It should
draw definitive conclusions only with extreme caution. Given its fundamental
nature, exploratory research often concludes that a perceived problem does not
actually exist.
Exploratory
research often relies on secondary research such as reviewing available
literature and/or data, or qualitative approaches such as informal discussions
with consumers, employees, management or competitors, and more formal
Question.
2. What are the various steps in content analysis? Explain in detail.
Answer: Content analysis is a method
for summarizing any form of content by counting various aspects of the content.
This enables a more objective evaluation than comparing content based on the impressions
of a listener. For example, an impressionistic summary of a TV program, is not
content analysis. Nor is a book review: it’s an evaluation.
Question.
3. Write a long note on validity and reliability.
Answer: The principles of validity and
reliability are fundamental cornerstones of the scientific method. Together,
they are at the core of what is accepted as scientific proof, by scientist and
philosopher alike. By following a few basic principles, any experimental design
will stand up to rigorous questioning and skepticism.
What is Reliability?
Question.

rise to a reinvigorated press. Such scandals as Watergate and the Pentagon
Papers case renewed the spirit of "investigative journalism," and
created in many young people a desire to pursue careers as reporters.
In
the 1980s, incidents occurred and new technologies appeared which together
raised questions about the ethical values of American journalists. This digest
seeks to identify some of those ethical issues and to point to the work of
those who have studied

Question.
6. Write a long note on planning evaluation.
Answer: An evaluation plan is a roadmap
that identifies the goals and ways in which you’ll collect and analyze data.
This includes which information you’ll collect, along with how, where and when
you’ll collect it. It identifies your research methods, those responsible for
carrying out the plan, timelines and budget.
