Question. 1. What was the basis of the
incident that has occurred in Maruti Manesar plant. Answer as per your
understanding of the case with appropriate justifications. ( 10 Marks)
Answer: Maruti Manesar
plant incident is the case of Indian Industrial Violence and it is considered
to be worst case in this matter. Since the April 2012, the Manesar union
demanded basic salary increase of three fold. There was demand of allowance
conveyance of 10,000 rupess, new car launch gift, laundry allowance of 3000
rupees and cheaper home loans for employee’s house.
Employee’s perception was:
Contract employee’s wages were low. For example, 3000 for permanent and 2800
for contract employees.
Question. 2. Mumbai has over 1,00,000 autorickshaws
and taxis. Majority of them, have taken the vehicles on rent on daily basis.
The driver rents out the vehicle and for a particular shift and is responsible
to earn for the gas and maintenance charges besides the responsibility of
payment of rentals to the owner.
Whatever is left after that is
his income for the day. Throughout the shift the driver ferries the passengers
in order to make profits. They do not have any health insurance or any minimum
payments received. They are members of unions but they are not satisfied with
its functioning. During strikes, unwillingly as well they have to be off the

Question. 3. Mr. Venkatraman, the
CEO of Annabelle Ltd. is stressed nowadays due to certain incidents that
happened in recent past. Aniket and Sanket were working for the Company since a
decade now. They were known for their dedication and sincereity towards their
work. They were also active members of the Union due to which they fought
election against each other. Aniket won the election by a small margin. After
winning the election, Aniket got involved in the routine activities and Sanket
along with his followers followed him, but one of them was not enjoying the
leadership of Aniket. He created rift between the two. Activities to let each
other down started. Both started fighting on petty issues. These were
highlighted and Mr. Venkatraman suspended both of them Sanket retaliated and
manhandled Aniket for the misfortunes. Aniket returned to Mr. Venkatraman for
help. Sanket also reported to Mr. Venkatraman about the activities of Aniket
and asked for help. Now Mr. Venkatraman is in a fix.

Answer: Mr. Venkatraman
needs to find the list of followers that Sanket had. It is import that Mr.
Venkatraman finds out the source of the rift that became the reason of the

Answer: In this case, Aniket
will be the one that I would support because the either party was not faulty
therefore Aniket is not responsible for the misfortune. At least not on his own.
