Objective: News writing is an art. It is usually a reporter who writes the news story and the sub-editor edits it. Even though the newspaper is full of news stories, which are fair, impartial and objective, each story needs a different approach. Writing /editing a news story being the primary function of a journalist, exercise 4 tries to provide enough practical exposure to the beginner.

Since the exercise is to help you develop a sense of which leads are most effective in certain situations, and since you obviously haven't researched your story ideas yet, you are free to "make up" what you need for the leads.
