Answer the following questions:

Q. 1- List the qualities that a news anchor needs to have. Mention how these are different from the qualities of an RJ. [10 Marks]

Answer:RJ or Radio Jockey has been with us for almost a century, but since the advent of FM channels the Radio Announcer suddenly being referred as Radio Jockey or RJ. These days a RJ not only plays a part of the navigator but his/her main aim is to entertain the listeners and simultaneously provide regular online information. Every successful RJ has its own style of communicating. A sweet, mid to heavy voice is considered suitable for broadcasting but moreover its your own aptitude, your overall confidence, your personality to deliver all of it through your voice.

Q. 2- Explain how a newscaster or news anchor can create an impact on television. List what things he/she should consider. [10 Marks]

Answer:A news presenter – also known as a newsreader, newscaster (short for "news broadcaster"), anchorman or anchorwoman, news anchor or simply an anchor – is a person who presents news during a news program on television, on the radio or on the Internet. Q. 3- Discuss whether naturalness and posture are important in TV anchoring. [10 Marks]

Answer:TV anchors, also known as newscasters, news analysts or news anchors, are the on-air people that deliver news stories to the broadcasting station's audience. These professionals are usually required to have a bachelor's degree. Internships or work experience are frequently needed for employment. TV anchors often work their way up the reporting ranks to land the job after working as a reporter, news writer or correspondent.

The transformations in journalists’ work environment are not being contemplated in the studies by Speech-Language Pathologists. The possibility of different sets, materials, resources, technologies and dynamics for news broadcast anchors are not foreseen, considered





Q. 4- Write a long note on the four modes of delivery for an RJ. [10 Marks]

Answer:Memorization: Delivering a word-for-word memorized speech is very difficult, and I don't advise novice speakers to do it. Memorizing puts too much pressure on you, and unless you're an exceptionally fine deliverer, it will sound memorized. In many companies, people who memorize are much touted and I agree that it is impressive. However, in the final analysis, if a speaker is interesting and thought provoking, the audience doesn't mind if notes are used.





Q. 5- Write a long note on the importance of the face in TV anchoring. How does one’s appearance affect perceptions and what can be done to improve it? [10 Marks]

Answer:Television news anchors notify the public about breaking headlines and current news events. During live broadcasts, they introduce field and in-studio reporters who provide additional news information on specific stories. Anchors may also interview professionals who have opinions or facts relating to a story.

Working as a television news anchor allows a person to consistently be on camera and viewed by audiences. However, the job comes with long hours and constant deadlines. Teamwork is key, and physical stamina is needed for the position. Professionals who start at a smaller news station can eventually work their way up to a large
