Different
steps of problem solving
Answer:Using established tools and techniques will help you improve your
approach to solving the problems that your team and your organization face.
You'll be more successful at solving problems and, because of this, more
successful at what you do. What's more, you'll begin to build a reputation as
someone who can handle tough situations, in a wise and positive way.
The Five Steps of Problem Solving
With that understanding of problem solving,
let’s
Question.2.Explain
the Concept of Measurement.
Answer:To be able to assign a numerical value to an attribute of an object, we
must first be able to identify the attribute, and then we must have some kind
of unit against which to compare that attribute. Most often we need a
measurement tool that supplies us with our units. If our units are smaller than
the attribute in question, then our measurement is in terms of numbers
(quantities) of those units. On the other hand, if our units are larger than
the attribute in question, then our measurement is in terms of parts
(partitions) of the unit. Most often measurement includes a quantity of whole
units along with a part of a unit. The fractional part of a unit determines the
precision with which we measure. Greater precision results from smaller
partitions.
The units that we use to measure are most
Question.3.Discuss
- Value Analysis and Quality Management.
Answer:VALUE ANALYSIS PROCESS: The first step in the value analysis process
is to define the problem and its scope. Once this is done, the functions of the
product and its items are derived. These functions are classified into
"basic" and "secondary" functions. A Cost Function Matrix
or Value Analysis Matrix is prepared to identify the cost of providing each
function by associating the function with a mechanism or component part of a
product. Product functions with a high cost-function ratio are identified as
opportunities for further investigation and improvement. Improvement
opportunities are then brainstormed, analyzed, and selected.
The objective of the Function Cost
Question.4.Discuss
- Customer Perception of Quality.
Answer:Consumer's opinion of a product's (or a brand's) ability to fulfill his
or her expectations. It may have little or nothing to do with the actual
excellence of the product, and is based on the firm's (or brand's) current
public image (see corporate image), consumer's experience with the firm's other
products, and the influence of the opinion leaders, consumer's peer group, and
others.
All that really counts is the customer perception
of quality. This is dependent on 6 simple steps:
Offer Prompt Attention: Everyone wants prompt attention. The longer
a caller has to hold, get passed between departments, wait for someone to
Question.5.Explain
- Supplier Rating
Supplier Rating

Supplier
Rating Explanation
Answer:Vendor rating is the result of a formal vendor evaluation system. Vendors
or suppliers are given standing, status, or title according to their attainment
of some level of performance, such as delivery, lead time, quality, price, or
some combination of variables. The motivation for the establishment of such a
rating system is part of the effort of manufacturers and service firms to
ensure that the desired characteristics of a purchased product or service is built
in and not determined later by some after-the-fact indicator. The vendor rating
may take the form of a hierarchical ranking from poor to excellent
Question.6.Discuss
- EFQM Excellence Model.
Answer:Whilst there are numerous management tools and techniques commonly used,
the EFQM Excellence Model provides an holistic view of the organisation and it
can be used to determine how these different methods fit together and
complement each other. The Model can therefore
be used in conjunction with any number of these tools, based on the needs and
function of the organisation, as an overarching framework for developing
sustainable excellence.
Excellent organisations achieve and sustain
outstanding levels of performance that meet or exceed the expectations of all
their stakeholders. The EFQM Excellence
Model allows people to understand the cause and effect relationships between
what their organisation does and the Results it achieves.
All organisations strive to be successful,
some fail, some achieve periods of success but ultimately fade from view, and a
few achieve sustainable success, gaining deserved respect and admiration. The EFQM Foundation was formed to recognise
an
