Q.1: Discuss the mortality profile of India. Add a note on nutritional problem in Indian population.

Answer: Data on cause-specific mortality, skilled birth attendance, and emergency obstetric care access are essential to plan maternity services. We present the distribution of India's 2001–2003 maternal mortality by cause and uptake of emergency obstetric care, in poorer and richer states.

Methods and Findings
The Registrar General of India surveyed all deaths

Q.2: Explain epidemiological triad with the help of suitable examples.
Answer: A traditional model of infectious disease causation, known as the Epidemiologic Triad is depicted in Figure 2.  The triad consists of an external agent, a host and an environment in which host and agent are brought together, causing the disease to occur in the host. A vector, an organism which transmits infection by conveying the pathogen from one host to another without causing disease itself, may be part of the infectious process.

Q.3: Define health insurance. Discuss the difference between health insurance in India and USA.

Answer: Health insurance is insurance against the risk of incurring medical expenses among individuals. By estimating the overall risk of health care and health system expenses, among a targeted group, an insurer can develop a routine finance structure, such as a monthly premium or payroll tax, to ensure that money is available to pay for the health care benefits specified in the insurance agreement. The benefit is administered by a central organization such as a government agency, private business, or not-for-profit entity. According to the Health Insurance Association of America, health insurance is defined as "coverage that provides for the payments of benefits

Q.4:  Describe the guidelines of International Health Regulations with regard to ports, airports and ground crossings.

Answer: The International Health Regulations (2005) (hereinafter "the IHR" or “the Regulations”) are an international agreement that is legally binding on 194 countries (States Parties), including all WHO Member States. The IHR define their "purpose and scope" as: "to prevent, protect against, control and provide a public health response to the international spread of disease in ways that are commensurate with and restricted to public health risks, and which avoid unnecessary interference with international traffic and trade". Since their entry into force on 15 June 2007, the IHR directs and governs particular WHO and States Parties activities aiming

Q.5: Explain the various government programs for nurturing newborns.

Answer: In India, around 46 per cent of all children below the age of three are too small for their age, 47 per cent are underweight and at least 16 per cent are wasted. Many of these children are severely malnourished.
Mother and Child Nutrition: More than half of all child deaths are associated with malnutrition, which weakens the body's resistance to illness. Poor diet, frequent illness, and inadequate or inattentive care of young children can lead to malnutrition.

Q.6: Explain the management methods and techniques of health planning.

Answer: Health Planning and Systems Development runs programs that strengthen health care access with a focus on rural areas and underserved populations. We also conduct statewide health planning to help sustain organized and efficient health care delivery in Alaska. The National Health Service Corps Loan Repayment Program is currently open for applications and will close on March 30, 2015.
