(a)
Input devices
Answer:In computing, an input device is a peripheral (piece of computer hardware
equipment) used to provide data and control signals to an information
processing system such as a computer or information appliance. Examples of
input devices include keyboards, mouse, scanners, digital cameras and
joysticks.

Output devices
Answer:An output device is any piece of computer hardware item which utilizes

Question.2.
Briefly explain the characteristics of computers.
Answer:The computer is an advanced electronic device that takes raw data as
input from the user and processes these data under the control of the set of
instructions (called program) and gives the result (output) and saves output
for the future use. It can process both numerical and non-numerical (arithmetic
and logical) calculations.
Question.3.
List any five characteristics of an object-oriented design (OOD).
Answer:Object-oriented design is the process of planning a system of interacting
objects for the purpose of solving a software problem. It is one approach to
software design.
An object contains encapsulated data and
procedures grouped together to represent an entity. The 'object interface'
defines how the object can be interacted with. An object-oriented program is
described by the interaction of these objects.
Question.4.
What are the five major activities of an operating system in regard to process
management?
Answer:Even though, not all systems have the same structure many modern
operating systems share the same goal of supporting the following types of
system components.
Process Management: The operating system manages many kinds of
activities ranging from user programs to system programs like printer spooler,
