Question. 1. What is the importance of good user interface design?

Answer:Ever since the dot-come bubble of the mid-1990s, thousands of businesses have made a presence online. Although doing so is a very wise decision, it must be done correctly in order to be effective. As a result, the success of a website depends on numerous design, development, and marketing factors. One of the most important of these factors falls under the category of design, which is user interface design. Also known as user experience “UX” and user interface “UI” design is what makes the layout and organization of a website easy-to-use.

Question. 2. Explain the benefits of good user interface design.

Answer:It is important for any web designer to design functional sites that can easily generate interest and online traffic among the internet users. The user interface design of your site plays an vital role in bringing high volume web traffic to it. Therefore, web designers should give due importance to the user interface of the site which is being designed by them.

Question. 3. Mention the supporting functions for graphical user interface.

Answer:The graphical user interface (GUI /ɡuːiː/), is a type of user interface that allows users to interact with electronic devices through graphical icons and visual indicators such as secondary notation, instead of text-based user interfaces, typed command labels or text navigation. GUIs were introduced in reaction to the perceived steep learning curve of command-line interfaces (CLIs), which require commands to be typed on a computer keyboard.

Question. 4. What are the features direct manipulatio interface provides?

Answer:In computer science, direct manipulation is a human–computer interaction style which involves continuous representation of objects of interest and rapid, reversible, and incremental actions and feedback. As opposed to other interaction styles, for example, a command language, the intention of direct manipulation is to allow a user to manipulate objects presented to them, using actions that correspond at least loosely to manipulation of physical objects. An example of direct-manipulation is resizing a graphical shape, such as a rectangle, by dragging its corners or edges with a mouse.

Answer:Layout of controls is critical to an applications usability. Arranging controls based on fixed pixel coordinates may work for an limited enviroment, but as soon as you want to use it on different screen resolutions or with different font sizes it will fail. WPF provides a rich set built-in layout panels that help you to avoid the common pitfalls.

Answer:The advantages of a graphical user interface (GUI) are ease of use, higher productivity and better accessibility. Electronic devices with GUIs often let users accomplish tasks at a faster rate over devices that employ older interfaces.
